Chocolate Fudge Brownie Mix

We enjoyed making the ‘Betty Crocker’ Rainbow Chip Party Cake Mix for our baking adventure last time so we went for their Chocolate Fudge Brownie Mix today! It looked really scrummy on the packet, and even more delicious to make!

As usual, James carefully added the dry mix into the mixing bowl, followed by the butter and eggs, before giving everything a thoroughly good stir with the wooden spoon. It was important to stir the mixture well to make sure there were no dry bits.

James then helped as we carefully poured and spooned the mixture into a lined baking tray, and James then carefully used a rounded knife to spread the mixture out evenly.

James then sent Dad out to the kitchen with the baking tray to put it in the oven, which was a Dad job anyway as the oven is ‘Hot! Hot! Hot!’, preferring to direct operations from the sofa.

We then had the hard job of waiting for about 20 minutes until the brownies were ready to take out of the oven to cool on the wire rack!

Once they had cooled, we could cut the brownie slab into brownie pieces ready to eat! Another bowl for James to lick clean and lots of chocolatey mixture to get on his t-shirt!

You will need:

‘Betty Crocker’ Chocolate Fudge Brownie Mix
2 Medium Eggs
80g soft butter
A 20cm baking tray (lined)

Method:

Preheat oven to Fan 160, Conventional 180, Gas 4.

Empty brownie mix into a large bowl and add the soft butter and eggs

Mix well until all the ingredients are mixed together with no dry bits

Pour and spoon the mixture into the lined baking tray and spread evenly

Bake in the centre of the oven for approximately 20-25 minutes until a rounded knife comes out clean

Remove from the oven, leave to cool in the tray for 10 minutes, before transferring the cakes to a wire cooling rack.

These brownies were great fun to make, with the different stages all giving us plenty of sticky things to do! Lots of chocolatey things for James to lick clean as well! Yummy!
